Ricoh is a camera manufacturer that tends to swim against the current, not only in terms of product range but also in the way the schedules of their product announcements. While all the major announced their new toys just before or at the PMA in Las Vegas, Ricoh has decided to wait a few more weeks and let the world know about the new addition to its line of compact cameras in one Conversely, press.

In the market for the Ricoh R8 will be created against rivals such as Panasonic’s TZ series or Canon SX100 IS. Ricoh has released a firmware update for the GR Digital II compact camera. Version 2.30 includes manual control of flash and the ability to save settings for white balance compensation under “My Settings”. A new feature, “Today’s shooting” shows the number of recorded images at a time when the power is off. The next update of the recent firmware update (v1.16) for the CMOS-based CX1 correct some minor problems.
